Family Counseling
Family counseling takes courage, planning, and perseverance. With busy schedules, it is hard to get multiple family members in the room at the same time. It takes courage and vulnerability to sit with those we love the most, as they are often the same people we have hurt the most. It takes time and perseverance to attune to multiple people in the therapy room. However, family counseling can often have the best outcomes for individual mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health.
When a whole system changes the way they relate to one another, each individual is free to change and move toward growth. Whitney uses family systems theory, attachment theory, and interpersonal neurobiology from researchers like Murray Bowen, Mary Ainsworth, and Daniel Siegel in therapy to provide research-informed family therapy.
