Internal Family Systems

IFS

What is IFS therapy?

IFS is an evidence-based therapy approach for treating anxiety, depression, and PTSD. We all having conflicting inner emotions or parts. "Part of me wants to change jobs, while the other part of me just wants to stay put." In internal family systems, we get to know our different parts with curiosity and compassion. The IFS model asserts that each person has some wounded parts, like anger or shame, and other parts that try to control and protect us from those wounded parts. IFS therapists help identify and reconcile these parts, so the person’s core Self can find true healing.
